Keep the settings you already use
The launch merges toolkit settings into a copy of your own configuration. Toolkit values take priority for that launch; Codex trust decisions can be saved back afterward.
Know what needs your approval
New or changed hooks require Codex's trust step. Review them before approving. Plugins are not written for Codex, and MCP servers need local setup for required keys.
Questions
Can I reuse commands from another app?
Supported commands are converted into skills you can invoke. The compatibility result identifies any behavior that cannot be preserved.
Can I set different models for different work?
Yes. Save supported Codex settings in each toolkit and select the toolkit when you launch.
Will switching toolkits change a running conversation?
No. Choose the toolkit before launching Codex. A new selection applies to the new launch.
