Manage your computers

Open Settings → Computers in the web app. Each connected computer has a row showing its name, connection, sync, client version, and projects. Search or filter the list to find one.

Workspace owners and admins can change computer settings. Members can view the list and status information.

Choose Connect computer, then complete the connection on that computer. A computer already connected can use its existing connection; do not force a new identity merely to refresh its status.

Use Rename computer in the row’s menu to give the computer a recognizable name. Renaming does not change its local folders or configuration.

From the web app: choose Disconnect computer in its row and confirm. Future sync and launch access stops when the computer contacts the service. This does not erase files or credentials already on that computer.

On the computer: open Code Config → Settings → Sign out and confirm. You can connect again with a new sign-in link.

Disconnect a computer you no longer have, but do not treat it as a remote wipe. Remove sensitive local files on the computer itself when appropriate.

Column What it tells you
Connection Whether Code Config is currently communicating with this computer: Online, Not reported if there is no current answer, or a status showing it currently isn’t.
Sync Whether the computer needs anything: Current, Changes pending, Syncing, Failed, or Sync status unknown. Blank on a computer that has not synced yet.
Last sync When the computer last took a change: a date and time, In progress while a sync runs, or Not reported if the status could not be read. Blank on a computer that has not synced yet.
Client version Whether the installed software matches available releases: Current, Update available, Update required, Newer than latest, or Not reported.

These columns answer different questions. A connected computer can be asleep; a computer that is online can still need a sync. A Current Sync cell is what tells you the toolkit configuration is up to date; blank cells in both columns mean the computer has not completed its first sync yet.

After a rename, confirm the new name in the list. After a disconnect, the tray reports Removed; close it and the computer’s row is gone from the list. When you connect another computer, check its own connection and sync results; a new computer does not receive everything the moment it connects.

A replacement computer or forced new connection can have a new identity. Old rows remain in the list; review them.
