Add a tool repository
Add a repository to find the tools it contains. Its tools become available across your account; you choose which ones to put in a toolkit afterward.
This is different from connecting a project folder, which tells Code Config where you work.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Have the GitHub repository URL and permission to access it. This form accepts GitHub repositories, not local paths or folders.
Add the repository
Section titled “Add the repository”- Open Tool Builder → Sources → Add repository.
- Choose Use in my workspace. Share with everyone submits a public repository to Registry review instead; it does not add the source to My tools.
- Enter the repository URL, such as
https://github.com/owner/repository. Choose its Expected visibility to start the right access step. - Choose Verify and add. Code Config verifies access and scans for supported tools.
- After Discovery complete, choose Open discovered tools in Builder.
- Select the tools you need and add them to a toolkit.
Private repositories
Section titled “Private repositories”Choose Private under Expected visibility. When requested, approve the code-config.com GitHub App for that repository and return to finish. GitHub’s verified visibility determines how the repository is handled.
GitHub approval requested means an organization owner must approve access. The saved attempt remains available, but the repository has not been added yet.
GitHub connection did not finish means you need to retry the access step. Review or remove the GitHub App installation in GitHub.
Private repositories can supply your own toolkits. Registry submissions accept public repositories only.
Check it worked
Section titled “Check it worked”Find the repository in Sources, then open View tools. Discovery does not add tools to any toolkit automatically. Confirm your selected tools appear in the destination toolkit after placement.
Common problems
Section titled “Common problems”No supported tools found: check that the repository contains supported tool files; adding ordinary project code does not create tools.
Access required: complete GitHub authorization. Index failed: inspect the result, then retry indexing when available. A repository still marked Indexing is not finished.
